چکیده

Abstract Background Based on the analysis of infections and antibiotic usage in years 2013 2014, an evidence-based protocol was developed implemented our cardiac surgical intensive care unit (CSICU). This study intends to impact this new sensitivity profiles common gram-negative bacteria CSICU. Methods The medical records patients who underwent surgery at center, between January 2017 December 2018, were reviewed incidence different hospital-acquired their recorded. antibiotic-sensitivity bacteria, for compared with published data 2014 from department. Results There a significant decrease Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa resistant carbapenems during 2018. colistin-resistant A. baumannii P. also decreased significantly A increase proportion amikacin E. coli B lactam/B lactamase inhibitors occurred. Conclusion Antibiotic stewardship can reverse resistance ICU.

Antibiotic Resistance Pattern of Gram-Negative Bacteria in Gorgan

Abstract Background and Objective: The excessive use of broad-spectrum antibiotics will lead to drug resistance of microorganism and specially nosocomial organisms. Because of high incidence of antibiotic resistance in hospitals, we aimed to study antibiotic resistance to gram negative bacteria. Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on the data of biological sampl...

Antibiotic resistance in the intensive care unit.

Antimicrobial resistance has emerged as an important determinant of outcome for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). This is largely due to the administration of inadequate antimicrobial treatment, which is most often related to bacterial antibiotic resistance. In addition, the escalating problem of antimicrobial resistance has substantially increased overall health care costs. This incre...

Retrospective study was conducted in surgical intensive care unit (ICU) in Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb in 2005. The aim of study was to create guidelines for empirical antibiotic therapy of sepsis in ICU for unknown causative agent based on antimicrobial susceptibility of causative bacteria. Thirty-two patients with severe sepsis were included in study and from medical records their clinica...

Impact of antibiotic resistance in gram-negative bacilli on empirical and definitive antibiotic therapy.

Serious infections with gram-negative pathogens continue to be associated with considerable mortality. Increasing antibiotic resistance in organisms such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii, and Klebsiella pneumoniae is contributing to difficulties with choosing antibiotics to prescribe for these infections. Optimization of therapy against these organisms starts with the initial ...
